It all started when we left from Chester County to go to Philadelphia. In the car ride, I decreased boredom by reading and playing on my phone. Although, there was a lot to look at.
We started to see the most run-down neighborhood ever seen. I saw shingles on roofs torn apart, wallpaper of houses ripped right off of the structure. I saw things I won't forget. Everyone we saw had no etch of nice, clean people. This was my first look of Philadelphia.
Philadelphia got better by and by. I started to see skyscrapers; old, colonial buildings; even a Chinatown in PA (instead of CA). It was all so amazing! The buildings were so great to make a movie upon. Philly's second layer was more promising than the first.
Parking under the visitor's center, we talked to a clerk about the lay of the land. We then took a carriage ride, and had a very good and interesting guide. His name was Abe, his horse Bubba. Abe owned a guitar repair and rental store, doing this on the side. He gave us very interesting information on the people who made Philly possible: the architects, captains, and engineers. He also informed us of the part Philly played in American History, and of course all you all know about that. He was a great speaker and great guide.
Later we saw the liberty bell. That was awesome. A big, round bell with a crack through the middle stood in front of us. It had broken while it was transported to Philadelphia. Broken or not, it was a symbol of American freedom.
At the newly found Constitution Center, I saw a movie of America's path to greatness,"signed the Constitution", (I was in a room with Rebecca that had all the people who signed the constitution (in statues) and a huge book full of 21st century signatures (you know what I mean) ,participated in an interactive museum with fun games for children, and tried to see the fireworks but couldn't because of the vacancy of free parking spaces. After that, we ate at a fancy restaurant and came home.
Okay, so we didn't see Independence Hall, but we had a very fun time on the fourth of July! We were in where it all started. We'll go back and see Independence Hall in a day or two...
IT WAS SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The End!
E. I. duPONT,
Andrew.
