After we left Virginia, we made our way to Pennsylvania. PA is a state full of beauty and enriched in history. It has so much to offer, so much to see! We have gone to Philadelphia twice. The city is easy to maneuver and the places to see are so close in vicinity. The visitor center is easy to find and we had fun visiting the Liberty Bell, the National Constitution Center, The US Mint and Independence Hall. We also took a carriage tour, a walking tour and consumed an authentic Philly Cheese Steak. Fun:)
We have been staying in a nice remote campsite in West Chester County. We expected to check out yesterday and head to New York. We are not done with PA yet though. We are moving today, but we are just moving up the road 60 miles. We still have Amish to see and Hershey Park!
With over three weeks under our belt, I have some observations to share. The majority of the people in campsites are polite, friendly and relaxed. Many folks have dogs. Lots of the people are travelers with a lot of insight to share. The people are from all over the US and Canada. At least in the summer months, there are tons of children around. The campsites come alive in the evening. People expand their space by hanging out outside their camper. Campfires and conversation abound.
We have shared some good quality family time. Andrew and Rebecca are definitely not bored. They are getting tons of activity during the day and by nightfall they are content to just hang. They seem very engaged in all that we are seeing and learning. That adds to my enjoyment.
We really miss the people at home, but we are staying so busy that our homesickness is short-lived. Our dogs Rocky and Emma are not always convenient, but we are happy to have them along. This campsite has a dog walking service, so we have signed up for that a few times.
I cannot even believe all the places we've been to so far. We've seen The Outer Banks, Kitty Hawk, Virginia Beach, Gettysburg, Jamestown, Williamsburg, Philadelphia, and other sites along the way. We have been in 8 states so far...
Thanks for keeping in touch!
Becky
