Drive from PA to OH

We took a four to five hour drive from PA to OH. In Ohio, we came into a campground in Alton, OH, very close to Columbus. Now, this campground was actually very little, only having 40 or so sites. It was right of of the road, having a few sites, and in the mist of these sites, was a small two story brick house with a front porch facing the road. It looked pretty old.

As we stopped the R.V. in the entrance, Dad and I got out, heading straight for the red brick building (which was the office). A lady who had short blond hair, a greeting face, and a short stocky body, came in the opposite direction. "Hello," she yelled. "Are you David?" I could distinguish a country accent, but not too country. Dad said yes. "I'm Sharon. How about we get you parked, and then we can do all the paperwork. Okay?"

"Okay," Dad yelled back. "But I have a problem," he said as Sharon came closer to us. They had stopped yelling by now. "My jeep, I believe, will not run, because the gears don't roll. So, if we could push it..."

"Up the hill?"

"Well, I don't think I could do that. How about over there?" Dad asked, pointing to an area by a cornfield with a water pump, right next to where the R.V. was now stationed.

So, after driving the RV around a sharp turn and backing it into a slot. Sharon was uneasy about it, but it worked, and after parking, we prepared to push the jeep to the predetermined site. With ease, we pushed on the back of it and got it there.

We went into the "office", went through a little house with a living room and staircase, and went into a old dining room, that had a cabinet, full of china in it, and an organ with a hymnal, and many portraits. In the middle of this room, there was a round table with papers (many papers) on it. A chandelier was on it.

Sharon told us the rules, cool attractions, and a jeep store which could repair our jeep. After that, we left her, hooked up, and went to bed.

The flag flies high,
In the sky,
America God Blesses
So please go to rest

Have a good day,
Andrew.
