The rest of that day would be interesting. We all went down in the basement by and by, and decided to play a game called Ninja, where a band of people go down the stairs of the basement, the basement being pitch black. You go down the dark hallways, and another person is the ninja. They hide in the shadows and wait 'til your alone and vulnerable, and then, they slit your throat. Well, not really. They pull you from behind, and drag their finger across your neck, signifying their killing you. Fun game, right? Well that's what we played. Their thin, brown haired (my age) friend Cole came over, and he was the first ninja. Nervous and a little paranoid, we came down the stairs after counting to 20. Powell, Julia, Elise, Emma, Jacob, Westin, and I all made our way down. The steps were silent and slow. In the big room with the T.V., we stayed as Powell dumbly walked down the hallway alone. Cole came up from behind, and even though Powell struggled, he got him down for the count. Powell fake died, face flat on the ground. Then Cole did the unexpected. Instead of going away and waiting for us to come to him, he ran in the T.V. room, and Julia ran frantically. Westin, Jacob and I made for the bedroom, and Emma was murdered as Julia continued to run. Just so you know, from now on when I saw died, killed, slaughtered or murdered, I mean in a game sense, not for real. Okay?
I said if we stuckk together we would be fine as Westin, Jacob and I all got on the bed. Cole came in, and I lost it and jumped off the bed headed for the bathroom, my eyes adjusting to the extreme darkness. He threw a ninja star at my right arm (really just a beach ball) but I continued to live as it was only in the arm. I then hid by an air vent with a lot of stuff, to the right of a hallway. I was one of the last to die. But, not the last. Alas for that. Anyway, Powell was it and he was okay, trying to scare people before he... well you know what I mean. He took on a character and everything. Next Julia was it, and I hid in the bathroom before running into the room with the couch, her on one side, me on the other, us both trying to get the upper hand. Surely you've seen the montages and stuff in movies where the people go right, then left, then right. In the bathroom again, I gave up and told her to do it quick and easy. And so she did. At a later time, Westin, the smart and clever, was it. And so I crept under the bed, in the guest bedroom, and had many visitors with me. Julia came under at one point and as he passed by the room I told her to stay and hushed her, and also Emma came. If I was planning a different sort of revenge I would have made Westin know she was under there, and make her seen so he could take her out. Three reasons why I did not do this (1) I might get killed too (2) it was a good hiding place and I didn't want to make it known (3) it wouldn't be worth it as she didn't care if she was it or not; she was on her phone, making no effort to conceal herself. Girls.
In the darkness I waited as Jacob came in on another side, Emma had already gone. I had been using my phone's light as a flashlight when I was alone in the dark, passing through, completely blind. The fading pale light shone off a glimmer of what was there, as I ran around, thinking a monster was by me at one moment and then at the next a boogie man. Terror and despair, fear and anxiousness, all were a part of the time spent in the ghoulish basement. Screams and sounds of feet, breaths taken, and people falling... falling dead. The next thing you know you see the ninja, feel his finger, get pulled back... and die. Then the game ends, the light turns back on, people get up from their play-acting positions, other good players emerge from their clever hiding spots, and amidst all this splendor a grown adult female voice is heard, Mrs. Deedee's, saying dinner is to be served. Hungry and excited kids jog up the stairs as flat square homemade pizzas are presented, and kids sit around a crowded table and at a counter on stools. Stories, upcoming events, presents exchanged at Christmas, all are a part of the conversation going on. Talk about a girl's new year's party, how Chase eats eggs and ketchup combined, stories about the trip, and other things. I had two pieces of the good pizza and something else, I just can't put my finger on it. Oh well. It's not that important.
We did go back downstairs and play a little more of Ninja, but I was texting and on my phone a little, Elise and Emma upstairs, Cole back at his own house (he left), and Julia on Kinect Stations. I also read more of Redwall. Pretty soon after that Mrs. Deedee took me home, and I was surprised to see Lacy and Marcia Hicks there. It was a pleasant surprise though. As Deedee left I related my adventures, and talked to the Hick's as I saw Mom with the dogs on her lap. Lacy kindly gave me the last book of the Hunger Games Series, Mockingjay. I had finished the first one in PA, and the second one in Kentucky. It's about a... you what, just google it. It's very famous and I'm sure the people from Wikepedia or Answers. com can justify your curiousity a lot more than a twelve year old boy can. Report back to me when you find out what it's about. Anyway, but I was very grateful for the present and still am. Thank you, Lacy! After that they left. And we left the office, to our beds. It was a great fun adventure filled day. And what day can't, when it's a Poje day?
Goodbye, but not forever, only for now.
Excited about tomorrow. But read a later blog to find out why I am,
Andrew.
